Mike Howe Builders is continuing their work on a seven-acre single-family subdivision on the north side of Manitowoc.
Mike Howe was on WOMT’s After Further Review Program last week with Jason and Tina Prigge, where he explained that this project actually started three years ago when he first noticed a need for affordable housing.
Howe said, “It’s a risky undertaking to develop 7 acres of land and try to make it affordable in today’s marketplace.”
Howe went on to say that he and his team spent the summer laying out the plans for the Old Memorial Hospital site on Reed Avenue.
“We have 33 lots going in, and they are going to be standard city lots,” he explained. “65 feet wide by 115 feet deep is the standard, and there are a few different variations depending on how the cul-de-sac lays out.”
Howe also said that there is an added scenic aspect to the area, as the subdivision is butted up next to Lincoln Park, and numerous attractions nearby, including the zoo, a disc golf course, and Meadow Sports Complex.
The subdivision will consist of five single-story homes and one two-story home, which can be seen at MikeHoweBuilders.com/Subdivision.
