It’s like something you would see on an after-school special.
The Oshkosh Police Department says a child reported a situation to them where a stranger approached and offered candy and a puppy.
The incident occurred at around noon yesterday (December 8th) in the 1000 block of North Washburn Street, where the child’s parent left the victim in the car while they went into a store.
The child, whose age was not given, told police that a white man, estimated to be around 80 years old, approached the vehicle, and asked the child if they wanted candy or a puppy.
No physical contact was made with the child, and the man fled in an older grey minivan.
Anyone with any information on who the suspect may be is encouraged to contact the Oshkosh Police Department at 920-236-5700.
