The Two Rivers City Council met Monday for their regular meeting, and part of the agenda was a vote on the proposed 2023 City Budget.
According to City Manager Greg Buckley, all of the budget resolutions were approved by the council.
There were also several budget-related resolutions, “including adopting the 2023 pay scales for our various non-union employee groups.”
And another which made a small change in the environmental fee.
Buckley said residents don’t need to worry, it’s not going up.
“We have a monthly $7.00 environmental fee on our utility bills,” he explained. “Within that, 35 cents a month…(is) being shifted from landfill maintenance to urban forestry and tree planting.”
This is due to the increased presence of the Emerald Ash Borer beetle. Buckley anticipates that change will generate an additional $21,000 per year.
