Several area organizations area have been awarded a chunk of $1 million in Producer-Led Watershed Protection Grants.
A total of 43 farmer-led groups received a portion of that money which supports producer-led conservation solutions.
The Calumet County Ag Stewardship Alliance is getting $18,300 for their work, while the Sheboygan River Progressive Farmers are slated to receive $30,800 and Peninsula Pride Farms in Kewaunee and Door Counties is getting $37,960.
Just outside of our immediate area, the Milwaukee River Watershed Clean Farm Families is getting $37,960, and the Kenosha County Regenerative Producers has been awarded $10,000.
