The Manitowoc Symphony Orchestra is going to perform a Holiday POPS Concert this Sunday at the Capitol Civic Centre.
The 3:00 p.m. performance under the direction of Dylan Chmura-Moore will feature the works of Anderson: A Christmas Festival; Higgins: Christmas on Broadway; Humperdinck: Hansel and Gretel Opera; Tchaikovsky: Nutcracker Suite No. 1, and more festive favorites.
The MSO will be joined by special guests.
The voices of the Civic Centre Community Chorale directed by Jim and Susie Miller will contribute to a full stage of the sounds of Holiday Pops.
Chris Kornely and Rick Gerroll will serve as emcees of the event, adding narration to bring the stories of the music to life.
Doors open for ticket holders Sunday at 2:00 p.m. for photos with Santa Claus.
Manitowoc Symphony Executive Director Peggy Pitz said, “In an effort to encourage families to experience the concert, we are happy to offer kids 10-and-under free admission. MSO has also partnered with the Courthouse Pub to offer a $26.00 gourmet dinner after the holiday concert, with dine-in or curbside pick-up.”
Manitowoc is one of the smallest cities to have its own symphony orchestra and is celebrating their 72nd season.
