The Salvation Army of Manitowoc County is a bit behind where they would like to be in their Red Kettle collections.
LT Jenny Moffit said during her Friday morning Red Kettle Update that this past week pushed them closer to a quarter of the way to their season goal.
“We are tracking right now at about $45,000 of our overall Christmas Kettle goal of $175,000,” she revealed. “[That] puts us a little under 25%.”
However, she is not worried because, “Coming up in December, we have lots of opportunities for matchdays, double your dollar days, and in fact, our Battle of the Financials will happen Friday, December 13th.”
The Battle of the Financials pits local banks and credit unions against each other to see who can collect the most money for the Salvation Army on that one day.
This will be the fourth year of that competition, with more and more financial institutions taking part each year.
