We now know the two males involved in last week’s phoned-in bomb threat hoax at Lincoln High School were both in their mid-teens.
Manitowoc Police Captain of Detectives Peter McGinty tells Seehafer News about the young perpetrator from Canada.
“The Winnipeg Police Services did take into custody a 15-year-old juvenile male,” he revealed. “They do have charges reference to their jurisdiction that they will be pursuing and there won’t be any extradition we will be seeking as a result of the investigation.”
As for the former Lincoln student reportedly involved in the incident, Captain McGinty says, “The teenager that was charged here in Manitowoc is also 15 years old and we are working with the Department of Human Services as far as charges against that person.”
The two 15-year-olds had communicated through a gaming website before the call was made and the threat was left on a voice-mail on November 24th, resulting in classes being dismissed early that day.
What happens next for the Manitowoc teenager?
Police will refer their charges to the Department of Human Services with a copy of the report.
It will be reviewed and officials will look at the juvenile’s past record before deciding whether to waive him into adult court or charge him as a juvenile.
