James “Jim” L. Ewald, age 72, a Manitowoc resident, passed away Saturday morning, November 26, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born April 10, 1950 in Manitowoc, son of the late John and Harriet (Hansen) Ewald. Jim attended Lincoln High School, graduating with the class of 1968. He then went on to obtain a teaching degree from the Manitowoc Teacher’s College. Jim was employed with Englewood Electric of Green Bay. He had a love of animals and was a supporter and volunteer of Lakeshore Humane Society. Jim enjoyed throwing bean bags and playing pool. He loved the creek and soaking up the warm sun. He was loving, kind, and considerate and lived a full life. He enjoyed many great adventures with his significant other Kathy.
Survivors include his significant other: Kathy Wanish; his daughter: Emily Ewald (significant other: Charlie Wanish); his son: John Ewald (significant other: Bobbi Pekarek); grandchildren: Faith Jandrey, Ciara Ewald, Jazlin (Jazz-Lynn) Ewald, and Brielle (Bree-El) Ewald and instilling memories with Kathy’s grandchildren: Austin, Lydia, and Joey; two sisters: Joan Krumel and Judy Beck; and two sisters-in-law: Joan Ewald and Shirley Kreie (Cry). Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife: Sheila Ewald; his brother: Donald Ewald; two brothers-in-law: Gary Krumel and Richard Wicihowski; his son-in-law: Lyle Jandrey; as well as other relatives and friends.
Cremation has occurred at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory, Manitowoc, and a memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 1, 2022 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home, 628 North Water Street, Manitowoc. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Dr. Matthew Sauer.
The family will greet relatives and friends from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 1, 2022 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home, Manitowoc.
