Two area high schools have received monetary donations for their music programs from the Clipper City Chordsmen.
In a news release from Rich Ongna, VP of Marketing and Publicity, the Barber shoppers continue their commitment to music education by donating $500 each to Two Rivers and New Holstein High Schools. Members of the Clipper City Chordsmen presented the grants recently at the two schools.
The Wisconsin State Music Teachers Association includes barbershop singing as a category for their Solo and Ensemble contest each spring. In addition to the annual donations to local school music programs, the Chordsmen sponsor two $250 scholarships for students attending summer programs.
Interested students should contact the barbershop group at ChordsmenMusicScholarship@gmail.com for details and an application form.
