During the Special Meeting of Manitowoc Public School District’s Board of Education Tuesday night, Board members voted to select the current Interim Superintendent James Feil to serve as the next permanent Superintendent of Manitowoc Public School District.
There had been a call from past School Board Presidents to conduct an additional national search for a superintendent, while school board member Matthew Spaulding said the district has the right person in James Feil Saying, “I see no reason to waste any more time or taxpayer money searching for something that we already have”.
The final vote was 6-0 to approve the removal of the Interim title and hire James File as the permanent Superintendent through this school year and the next. Board President, Stacey Soeldner, stated, “We are excited to have Jim joining our team in a more permanent position. He will be able to lead Manitowoc Public Schools in reaching our achievement goals.”
The Board of Education will begin finalizing contract details immediately.
