As the end of the year approaches, the City of Manitowoc is working hard on finishing up the budget for 2023.
We spoke with Mayor Justin Nickels, who explained that tonight, they are inviting the public to voice their concerns, suggestions, or compliments regarding the budget. – “If you are interested in speaking on the budget proposal I have put forward, you can come down to City Hall at 6:30 p.m.,” he explained.”
You can view the full budget on the City website, but as the Mayor explained, for property owners, you will have a nice little Christmas present. “Overall with all taxing entities, it looks like your overall property tax bill should be going down,” Mayor Nickels revealed. “The School District went down because of their referendum, and City and County are going up minimally, so it should overall go down.”
After the hearing, the full council will be voting on a potential adoption.
