The Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office is reminding drivers of school bus etiquette following a close call earlier this week.
The department released a video of the situation which occurred on Tuesday.
A bus had stopped for a couple of students, and had its stop sign out and lights flashing.
Shortly after the bus stopped, an SUV is seen driving by the bus.
The two students then crossed the road safely, but if they hadn’t been paying attention, they could have been hit by the SUV.
As a reminder, when a school bus is stopped, and their lights are flashing, vehicles are not allowed to pass.
This is for the safety of the children, and drivers.
Anyone who fails to follow this rule will be fined $330 and will have four points deducted from their license.
