After a week that saw double-digit increases in local gas prices, motorists are getting an even greater reprieve at the pump.
According to the AAA Gas Prices website, over the past week, gas prices fell an average of 22 cents in Manitowoc County to $3.63, while Sheboygan County saw a 24-cent dip to $3.54.
Calumet County reported a 21-cent drop to an average of $3.57, while Outagamie County reported the largest decrease in our area, dropping 29 cents to $3.43 per gallon.
Brown County’s average is down 26 cents to $3.49, Kewaunee County is down 28 cents to $3.50, and Door County saw a 21-cent drop to $3.56 per gallon.
The state average also fell 25 cents to $3.56, while the national average only dipped 4 cents to $3.76.
The average price in Manitowoc County is below where it was before the second major jump back in April, but it is still 34 cents higher than it was before the first big jump back in March.
As far as the yearly average, the seven-county area we cover ended 2021 averaging $3.00 per gallon, while the 2022 average is currently sitting at $3.80 with six weeks left in the year.
