
EWC champion Two Rivers is very well-represented on the all-conference football team being announced today.
The Raiders, who ended the season Friday night with a loss to Catholic Memorial in the state semifinals, have four players selected to the first-team offense and six players voted first-team defense.
Junior runningback and linebacker Chase Matthias is a unanimous choice on both sides of the ball.
Raider teammates quarterback Justin Klinkner, wide receiver Austin Phillips, and lineman Connor Sanford were also unanimous picks offensively.
Joining Matthias on the first-team defense are defensive backs Orian Gauger and Zander Popp, outside linebacker Austin Phillips, defensive end Elijah Mott and d-lineman Connor Sanford.
Klinkner was voted Offensive Player of the Year after finishing the season with some impressive numbers.
Justin completed nearly 71% of his pass attempts for 2,647 yards, 34 touchdowns, and just 7 interceptions. He added 6 rushing scores and 493 yards on the ground.
Kevin Shillcox of the Raiders was named EWC Coach of the Year after leading his team to a 12-and-1 record.
Other first team all-conference selections from the area include Roncalli runningback Brayden Reimer, wide receiver Cole Hove of Valders, Kiel’s Jonah Funkhouser a two-way selection, teammate Tate Hartlaub is first team punter and kicker, along with linebacker Collin Gosse and Brillion defensive lineman Damon Schmidt.
