A Manitowoc man has been arrested on child porn charges.
The Manitowoc Police Department was contacted by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and the Wisconsin Division of Criminal Investigations Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force regarding a potential crime.
They reported that a 18-year-old Manitowoc man was using Snapchat and Instagram to view and share child pornography or child sexual assault material.
Officers detained the suspect on Monday, and while speaking with the suspect, he admitted to entering several internet chatrooms and downloading the material.
He also admitted that he knew he needed help but was unsure of how to ask for it.
The man is now facing a charge of Possession of Child Pornography.
