Senate Majority Leader Devin LeMahieu
The state Senator that represents Southern Manitowoc County, eastern Sheboygan County, and the southeastern corner of Calumet County is once again going to serve as the Senate Majority Leader.
Devin LeMahieu of Oostburg was again selected to hold that position, which he has held since 2015.
In a news relelase, LeMahieu said that he believes the state will continue to move forward with “a budget and policies that support Wisconsin’s families and businesses.”
LeMahieu, who is a Republican, is joined in the state Senate by a good number of fellow party mates, with the legislature consisting of 22 Republicans, 10 Democrats, and a single Independent.
The Assembly meanwhile is also majority Republic, with a 63-35 split, also with one Independent.
This is leading many to voice concerns about how Governor Tony Evers, a Democrat, and the two houses will work together.
