Veteran’s Day celebrations are planned all around the country today.
In Manitowoc, a ceremony is planned for 10:40 a.m. at the Veteran Memorial on North 18th Street.
Immediately following that ceremony, everyone is invited to go across the street to help clean some Civil War veteran gravestones.
There are nine sites left in the E2 section to clean, following two previous cleaning sessions.
In Two Rivers, an observance will begin in Central Park at 10:45 a.m., and several schools will also have programs.
There is also a program scheduled to take place at O.H. Schultz Elementary School in Mishicot this morning.
It will begin at 9:45 a.m. and will include a flag folding ceremony, the reading of essays written by the 5th-grade class, and a singing of God Bless the U.S.A.
Money will be collected during that program, which will then be donated to Old Glory Honor Flight.
