A Janesville man has been sentenced in a child porn case.
48-year-old James H. Karls was found guilty due to no-contest pleas on five counts of Possession of Child Pornography in Manitowoc County.
Judge Mark Rohrer sentenced Karls to spend three and a half years in prison followed by six years of extended supervision.
Karls was arrested on January 30th, 2020, after he was found to be buying child porn online, and having a sexual conversation with another child.
Karls was also sentenced to pay $2,500 in child pornography surcharges and undergo psycho-sexual counseling.
He will also be required to comply with the sex offender registry.
