The American Red Cross office in Green Bay is warning the flu season could affect the blood supply.
According to a news release this week, the Red Cross urges blood and platelet donors to give now and help offset the potential impact of seasonal illnesses and a potentially severe flu season on the supply of blood.
Officials advise there is no waiting period to donate after getting a flu shot.

The next blood donation opportunity in Manitowoc County is coming up this Friday afternoon.
Eligible donors can roll up their sleeves at Lakeshore Technical College in Cleveland, 1290 North Avenue, between noon and 5:00 p.m.
