While the Senate and Governor’s races received a large portion of media coverage, there was also a referendum in the City of Appleton related to Marijuana on Tuesday.
City leaders were asking residents if marijuana should be legalized for adults while taxing and regulating it like alcohol.
Voters were overwhelmingly in favor with 69% of voters saying yes, and 31% saying no.
Recent attempts at legalization have not gotten far at the state capitol, with several legislators saying the bills would have to undergo some major transformations in order to gain any headway.
Wisconsin is one of 13 states where marijuana is illegal, with tow of those states having it listed as decriminalized, and seven, including Wisconsin, allowing CBD.
The remaining four states, Idaho, Wyoming, Kansas, and South Carolina, have marijuana listed as being fully illegal in every incarnation.
