The push toward election day continued in Manitowoc today for Senator Ron Johnson.
He made a stop at Manitowoc Tool and Machining on Expo Drive, where he, alongside Candidate for Attorney General Eric Toney, Congressman Glen Grothman, and several other Republican speakers addressed the crowd.
If their speeches could be narrowed down to one basic premise, it would be for everyone to do their part and get people out to vote on Tuesday.
“It’s not somebody else’s fight, it’s our fight, and it is a fight we absolutely must win,” he said. “Please, God bless you, get out there work hard, save America.”
We were the only media outlet that was able to ask a couple of quick questions before Johnson and his team moved on to their next stop.
We asked why he decided to choose MTM as his stopping point in Manitowoc.
“I come from a manufacturing base, I manufactured myself,” he said. “I connect with people that get their hands dirty and are willing to work hard and create this marvel we call America.”
Johnson has put on over 5,000 miles in his campaign bus over the past week and a half, and he said the next few days will be just as hectic.
“Stop after stop after stop,” he said. “We are going to do about 4,000 miles just on the bus having already put about 5,000 miles on.”
Johnson is being challenged by Mandela Barnes in the midterm election.
