Changes have been made in Green Bay as a result of a lawsuit filed against City Clerk Celestine Jeffreys.
The suit claims that Jeffreys is restricting access to election observers during the in-person absentee voting going on right now.
Part of the voting process is taking place in a hall outside of her office, and the suit claims that poll watchers are not allowed out into the hallway where ballots are certified.
The suit then asks the Brown County Court to allow the public to observe the entirety of the voting process, and that Jeffreys post a court order at the entrance to her office stating as such.
In response, the City of Green Bay issued a public statement, which said in part, “the City has provided an additional area of observation. The modifications made will continue to preserve and protect the integrity of the in-person absentee voting process while protecting voter security and freedom.”
