An arrest has been made in the fatal hit-and-run incident Sunday evening in Green Bay.
Due to her age, the identity of the 15-year-old girl will not be released, however, she was charged with 1st Degree Reckless Homicide, Hit and Run, and Taking a Vehicle Without the Owner’s Consent.
The crash occurred at the intersection of West Mason and Oneida Streets at around 7:45 p.m.
The Green Bay Police Department estimates that the girl was driving at speeds of between 116 and 123 miles per hour at the time of impact.
Witnesses say a group of teens fled from the vehicle after it clipped one vehicle and slammed into another, however, 17-year-old Cruz Beltran was still in the car.
He was pronounced dead at a hospital about 40 minutes later.
The vehicle belonged to the girl’s mother, who realized it was missing about an hour before the crash.
Investigators located the driver at a hospital as she was being treated for a broken arm.
It is not clear if alcohol or drugs were involved, as the driver denied being under the influence, or racing another vehicle.
