Brian Kohlmeier
As we reported yesterday, Two Rivers Police Chief Brian Kohlmeier has announced his impending retirement.
He will be stepping down at the end of the year, after what City Manager Greg Buckley called an honorable career.
“Brian has served his hometown as a police officer and rising through the ranks to Chief for his entire law enforcement career,” he said. “[He is] going to be a tough act to follow. Brian’s professionalism and dedication to this community are second to none.”
The Police and Fire Commission has been working on determining who will be taking over the role once Chief Kohlmeier is gone.
Buckley said that while that is their call at the end of the day, he believes the next chief could come from within the Department.
“I think there are very capable individuals within the existing management administrative staff within the department,” the City Manager stated. “I think there are good odds for that happening.”
The Commission met last night to discuss their options.
We have not yet heard if any decisions were made.
