
Post-season play began last night for some local and area Girls’ High School Volleyball teams.
In Division 3, Manitowoc Lutheran swept past New Holstein 25-15, 25-15, and 25-17.
The Lancers, who host Southern Door in a 4-vs-5 Regional semifinal matchup tomorrow (October 20th), were paced by Marissa Melhorn with 13 kills, Sam Siehr added 12 kills, Mallory Melhorn had 16 digs and 4 aces, Lilly Melhorn led her team with 22 assists and Madison Luebke chipped in with 5 kills.
Meanwhile, Valders scored a 3-set sweep at home over Roncalli, Algoma needed 4 sets to defeat Reedsville, Brillion was a 3-0 winner over Mishicot, Oostburg breezed past Kewaunee in 3 and Sheboygan Area Lutheran swept Kohler.
In Division-2. Freedom posted a 3-set sweep of visiting Two Rivers, Notre Dame defeated Denmark in 3 sets, host Kiel outlasted Sturgeon Bay in 5-sets (22-25, 27-25, 22-25, 25-19 and 15-10) and Plymouth pulled off a mild upset over host Little Chute 3-sets to 1.
Division-1 Regional action involving Manitowoc Lincoln, Sheboygan North and ‘South will take place tomorrow night.
