State Sen. André Jacque was named 2022 Legislator of the Year this week by the Wisconsin Professional Police Association, the third time he has earned the organization’s award for his legislative service.
The De Pere Senator is a member of the Senate Committee on Judiciary and Public Safety and has stated that while crime is on the rise, the number of police on our streets is at the lowest level in at least a decade.
“This is no time to defund the police,” Sen. Jacque said in a news release. “That’s why I fought this session to reverse this trend and provide law enforcement with the funding they need to put more officers on the streets.”
Sen. Jacque has previously been recognized as the Wisconsin Chiefs of Police Association Legislator of the Year for the 2017-’18 session and has received the top legislative awards from several public safety groups
