Counterfeit cash is circulating in the City of Green Bay.
The Green Bay Police Department has announced that they have seized over $1,000 in fake currency over the past six weeks in denominations ranging from $1 bills all the way up to $100 bills.
The cash looks and feels real, but it has “replica” or “motion picture money” stamped on it. Some of the collected bills appear to have the stamp scratched off.
Some of the cash was spent at convenience stores, while some was seized during arrests for other crimes.
The GBPD is advising everyone to double-check their cash, and if anything doesn’t seem right to contact their local law enforcement agency.
