The defense’s strategy took a major hit in the murder of Jason Mendez-Ramos.
They had submitted a motion to shift the blame for the September 2021 killing onto another individual, who was reportedly a witness to the crime and is set to take the stand once the trial begins.
As it sits, Pedro Santiago-Marquez is accused of Killing Mendez-Ramos, while Jeisaac Rodriguez-Garcia and Alexander Burgos-Mojica are accused of helping him burn the body on the UW Green Bay campus.
Santiago-Marquez is scheduled to see his trial begin on February 27th, Burgos-Mojica is due for a trial in March, while Rodriguez-Garcia is due for a status conference on October 17th.
