For 65 years, Ascend Services has been helping those with disabilities enter the workforce.
Originally known as Holiday House, BJ Halvorsen created the organization because, according to Ascend’s website, he felt “differently-abled individuals should have meaningful work to facilitate them being part of the community… instead of feeling apart from it.”
That ideology has been in place for the past 65 years, and now the public is being invited in to celebrate this amazing milestone.
They will be giving tours of the facility between 9:00 and 11:00 this morning, and again from 1:00 to 3:00 this afternoon.
They will also unveil a new mural, premier a video made of their history, and supply refreshments for those in attendance.
Ascend Services is located at 2818 Meadow Lane.
