Wilma J. Meyer, 96, Manitowoc died on Friday, October 7, 2022 at St. Mary’s Nursing Home in Manitowoc.
Wilma was born on August 27, 1926 in the town of Franklin, daughter of the late Henry and Alma (Friedenburger) Mayer. On May 11, 1946 she married Arthur Meyer in Manitowoc. He preceded her in death September 3, 1993. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish.
She is survived by five children: Judy (Elroy) Tisler, Cato, Dona (Alan) Miller, Brillion, Randy (Linda) Meyer, Reedsville, Mary Jo (Michael) Schad, Manitowoc, and Bonnie (Dave) Poquette, Milwaukee; 11 grandchildren: Carrie (Terry) Reynolds, Manitowoc, Kristan (Blane) Boruch, Fond Du Lac, Katrina (Jerald) Korinek, Brillion, Carla (Michael) Gemignani, Green Leaf, Karin (Jamie) Gilson, AK, Kevin Miller, Brillion, Amy (Dustin) Maertz, Whitelaw, Gina (Mic) Payton, Brookfield, Adam Meyer, Reedsville, Brianna Schad, Green Bay, and Brandon Schad, Suamico; 11 great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law: Marion Heath, Manitowoc; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents: Henry and Alma Mayer; husband: Arthur; four brothers and two sisters-in-law; Rueben Mayer, Karl Mayer, Arthur (Bernice) Mayer, and Norman (Marie) Mayer; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
A memorial mass will be held on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at St. Francis of Assisi Waldo site, Rev. Jason Blahnik will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at the church from 10:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am. Inurnment will take place at Branch Evergreen Cemetery at a later date.
