The City of Two Rivers has a new man in charge of the Public Works Department.
We spoke with City Manager Greg Buckley earlier this week, and he said that the City Council welcomed Matt Heckenlaible, who is now working as the Public Works Director and City Engineer.
“He comes to the position with about 30 years of professional engineering experience,” Buckley told Seehafer News. “[He is a] UW Milwaukee grad with his BS in Civil Engineering. He spent the first 8 years of his career with private engineering consulting services, starting with SMI in Manitowoc and then Mead & Hunt out of Green Bay.”
Buckley also said that Heckenlaible has been with the City of Green Bay’s Engineering Department for the past 22 years and is currently working part-time in both cities. He will take over full-time on October 25th.
He is taking over for the now-retired former City Engineer, Jim McDonald.
“Jim was involved in a lot of important projects,” Buckley said. “[He] helped secure a lot of state and federal aid for reinvesting in our infrastructure.”
The City has also hired Bo Skornicka as a Certified Water Operator, and Steve Greatz as an Electric Meter Technician.
