
For the past several years, law enforcement has been battling catalytic converter thefts, but now, the thieves are targeting a much bigger vehicle, School buses.
The latest incident occurred in Oshkosh, where the Oshkosh area School District had to cancel bus service for students yesterday due to the number of converters stolen.
It is estimated that around 38 catalytic converters were stolen from the bus depot, immobilizing a vast majority Kobussen Busses units.
It is believed that this was an organized effort by a group of people, although authorities are unsure exactly how many people would have been involved.
Detectives are collecting evidence in the case and analyzing videos to see if they can capture the culprits.
