First District State Senator Andre Jacque has been elected to chair the nonpartisan Great Lakes-St. Lawrence Legislative Caucus.
The two-year assignment brings together members from eight U.S. states including Wisconsin and two Canadian provinces to ensure the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence River continue to provide a plentiful source of clean, affordable water to the region and its residents, businesses, and industries.
The Republican Senator from De Pere has served as an ex-officio member of the panel’s executive committee since 2019.
Jacque said, “Clean water is essential to support a healthy population, a thriving economy, and a well-functioning ecosystem.”
He added, “It is an extraordinary honor to continue my leadership in this vital area.”
