A fire in the basement of an Appleton home has left the family without a place to live.
The fire in the 700 block of West Winnebago Street was reported to the Appleton Fire Department at around 11:30 yesterday morning.
By the time crews arrived at the two-story residence, everyone was already evacuated, so the firefighters got to work.
They were able to quickly extinguish the fire on the first floor but also found additional flames in the basement.
The entire fire was put out after about half an hour of battling.
No injuries were reported, and very little additional information is available at this time.
The cost of the damage is not yet known, nor is the cause.
The family is receiving aid from the American Red Cross.
