There is only one meeting on the calendar today in the City of Manitowoc.
The Board of Public Works will be meeting in the Council Chambers at 4:00 p.m. They will be looking over a request to rescind a special assessment for access to South 41st Street.
The owner of a property in the 4000 block of Custer Street had written a letter to the City asking to move his driveway to the South 41st Street side of his property.
The individual noted that he recently purchased the property and cited the dangerous nature of the intersection.
According to a memo written by Engineering Division Manager Greg Minikel, when South 41st Street was paved in 1991, “the previous property owner was granted a legal recorded agreement that they would not be special assessed for the improvements on South 41st Street in exchange for the loss of or giving up access to South 41st Street.”
Minikel is recommending the Public Infrastructure Committee and City Council deny the request submitted by the property owner.
This is the final meeting for the week in the Clipper City.
