Three people are facing charges after they were caught driving a stolen vehicle.
According to police reports, an officer with the Manitowoc Police Department ran the plates of a vehicle driving past the intersection of Maritime Drive and North 8th Street just after midnight last Friday and learned the vehicle was stolen.
The officer began to follow the vehicle as it traveled south on 8th Street before turning onto Washington Street, and South 12th Street before coming to a stop.
One man exited the vehicle and left the scene while two people entered a nearby apartment.
The officer quickly located two of the occupants inside the residence, and fellow officers located the other suspect walking near South 13th and Hamilton Streets.
Officers found surveillance footage from the Kwik Trip on South 10th Street, which showed all three suspects entering the vehicle an hour before being arrested.
All three suspects were arrested on a charge of Operating a Motor Vehicle Without the Owner’s Consent, with the 29-year-old driver also being hit with a charge of Felony Bail Jumping.
A 21-year-old female passenger was hit with two counts of Felony Bail Jumping, and the 25-year-old passenger was hit with eight felony and 1 misdemeanor counts of Bail Jumping.
