The Milwaukee Brewers’ four-game win streak came to an end yesterday, as they fell to the Cincinnati Reds 2-1.
The only run for the Crew came off the bat of Hunter Renfroe, who belted a solo shot in the 2nd inning.
Aaron Ashby would allow a run via a based loaded hit by pitch, and Spencer Steer would hit a solo shot of his own off of Matt Bush to take the lead and the win.
Despite the string of wins, the Brewers are still on the outside looking in for the wildcard race.
The San Diego Padres were able to move to 3 games ahead of the Crew as they hold the second Wildcard position, while the Philadelphia Phillies hold the final spot, a game and a half ahead of Milwaukee.
The Crew has a challenge ahead of them this week, as they prepare for a two-game home series against the St. Louis Cardinals.
That series begins tomorrow with a 6:40 p.m. first pitch.
