The Department of Natural Resources says some new installations along the Ice Age Trail can help stop the spread of invasives.
A set of special boot brushes has been set up along several stops on the trail in Lincoln County.
DNR Conservation Program Manager Tom Boisvert says that the brushes are there to help keep hikers from tracking seeds and bugs from one part of the trail to another.
He says they’re especially on the lookout for garlic mustard, which can choke out other plants and ground cover.
