A Mike Brosseau grand slam kept the Milwaukee Brewers playoff hopes alive yesterday afternoon.
The Crew trounced the New York Mets 6-0 on the back of that 7th inning, bases loaded deep ball, and a Willy Adames solo shot in the 6th.
The win not only salvaged one game in the series against the NL East-leading Mets, but it also kept the Brewers on pace with the Phillies and Padres in the race for the final two NL Wildcard spots.
Either the Mets or the Braves will hold at least one of the three available Wildcard positions, while the Padres, Phillies, and Brewers battle for the last two.
2.5 games separate the Brewers and the Phillies, who hold the final playoff spot, while the Padres have a 1.5-game lead over Philadelphia.
The Brewers will look to topple the Cincinnati Reds this evening and continue their push toward five consecutive postseason appearances with first pitch at Great American Ballpark scheduled for 5:40 p.m.
