Residents in Plymouth are being warned of a scam involving the city’s Building Inspector.
The Plymouth Police Department is reporting that they have received numerous citizen reports from people receiving calls from a number that appears to be coming from the Building Inspector’s office.
This scammer will then ask about a medical alert pendant, which police believe is their way of trying to get personal and financial information from the target.
As is always the case, if you receive a phone call from someone who is trying to get money from you, you should always be weary.
If you don’t know for sure who the person is, you should hang up, and call them back on the number listed on their website.
If the real company or group doesn’t need any money from you, report the scam with as much detail as possible to your local police department.
