
A Manitowoc man is facing charges after he allegedly spit on and resisted police officers.
The situation began just after midnight on Friday (September 16th) when an officer noticed a vehicle without any registration plates.
The officer conducted a traffic stop, during which the driver was reportedly being uncooperative.
The 20-year-old man refused to identify himself, and when he was placed in handcuffs, had attempted to break free from the officer.
The suspect was noted as showing signs of impairment, so he was brought to a local hospital for a blood draw.
The suspect refused to consent and began kicking the seats in the squad car.
He also began spitting on the windows, and when officers went to apply a spit guard, he reportedly spit on the officers as well.
The man also threatened to beat up the officers and used derogatory language.
The was brought to the Manitowoc County Jail on two charges each of Battery or Threat to an Officer and Resisting or Obstructing an Officer, and one count of Throwing or Discharging Bodily Fluid at Public Safety Workers.
