Over 350 people will be at UW Green Bay Manitowoc Campus tomorrow morning for the 11th running of the Prevent Suicide Manitowoc Walk/Run for Hope.
This is the biggest fundraiser of the year for the local mental health advocates, and this year’s event is looking to be their biggest yet.
Numerous volunteers will be lining the course, which will start at the college and run along Lake Michigan.
There are actually two events running simultaneously, a 5K and a 10K.
The 5K participants will turn around by Manitowoc Lincoln High School, while the 10K runners will go all the way down to the Manitowoc/Two Rivers YMCA before returning to the college.
Registration begins at 7:00 a.m., a brief opening ceremony will be held at 7:45, and the gun will sound at 8:00 a.m.
Even if you do not wish to participate, you can still stop out and view a video displaying loved ones lost to suicide, or participate in a 50/50 raffle.
Our own Ryan Brahm will be MCing the event and cheering everyone on as they cross the finish line.
