Shoreline Hometown Credit Union has received a national certification.
Shoreline’s Worry-Free Hometown Checking program was recently certified by the national Cities for Financial Empowerment Fund (CFE Fund) as meeting the Bank On National Account Standards.
These standards designate both core and strongly recommended features that ensure low cost, high functionality, and consumer safety.
Key features of Worry-Free Hometown Checking include a monthly cost of only $5, no overdraft or nonsufficient fund fees, the ability to pay bills and make purchases, and federal deposit insurance.
Nathan Grossenbach, President and Chief Executive Officer of Shoreline voiced his excitement, saying “The certification is another important step in carrying out our mission to amplify our members’ financial well-being. It is well known that Americans have two primary concerns with their current banks—surprise fees and overdrawing their accounts.”
