What started as a dispute between neighbors ended up landing a Manitowoc man in police custody.
Officers were dispatched to a residence in the 1400 block of South 10th Street just before 11:00 last night (September 13th) to investigate the dispute report.
A caller told police that they saw a man enter his garage with what appeared to be a pistol.
A couple had reportedly begun yelling into a neighbor’s garage claiming they hit their vehicle and wouldn’t admit it.
The male of the relationship then fled the scene in his car.
The man, who was believed to still be in possession of a handgun, then returned to the home and was confronted by police with guns drawn.
The 56-year-old man was escorted out of the vehicle, and the missing handgun was not found.
Officers noticed signs of impairment, and the man refused to undergo field sobriety tests.
The man was arrested on his 7th OWI following a blood draw at a local hospital.
