
A Green Bay man has been arrested after allegedly robbing a woman and hitting her with a wooden club.
The robbery occurred at around 2:15 a.m. on September 3rd in the area of Crooks and South Madison Streets.
Officers arrived on the scene to find a woman lying on her back.
The 66-year-old woman told officers that she was near St. John’s Park where a man was shouting profanities.
She said something to the man, who then came over and struck her in the head with a wooden club multiple times.
The man also took the victim’s purse before fleeing the scene.
Officers were eventually able to identify Gionte Hart as the suspect and took him into custody.
He is now facing four charges including Armed Robbery and Substantial Battery.
