While they were unable to play the final two games of the season due to rain, the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers were able to get their first sweep of the season.
The Rattlers used an 8th inning rally Friday night to topple the Beloit Sky Carp at Fox Cities Stadium 6-5.
The Rattlers jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the 2nd, but the Carp bounded back in the 3rd knotting the scores.
The Carp then added runs in the 5th and 7th innings, leaving the Rattlers trailing 5-3 entering the 8th.
Shortstop Eduardo Garcia stepped up to the plate with one on and looked to make an impact for the second time.
He hit his second home run of the night, blasting a pitch over the left-field wall.
The Rattlers would then take the lead when, on the back of a Zack Raabe double, Antonio Pinero would add a two-bagger of his own to bring Raabe home for the eventual game-winning run.
James Meeker would step on the rubber in the 9th and once again would secure the win.
The Rattlers’ season is now over, as the Cedar Rapids Kernels and South Bend Cubs advanced to the playoffs.
Their best-of-three series begins tomorrow in Cedar Rapids Iowa.
