Former Badger running back Nakia Watson has returned to Camp Randall Stadium to score two touchdowns in Washington State’s 17-14 upset victory.
Watson scored on a two-yard run in the second quarter and a 31-yard pass reception in the third.
Both Wisconsin touchdowns came on passes from quarterback Graham Mertz to tight end Cliff Cundiff.
The Badgers suffered from self-inflicted injuries – including two missed field goals and 11 penalties for 103 yards.
They will try to bounce back next Saturday when New Mexico State visits.
The loss also bounced the Badgers out of the U-S-A Today Sports Coaches Poll.
Wisconsin had moved up to number-18 last week after shutting out Illinois State.
Alabama stays at the top of the poll despite a narrow 20-19 win at Texas. Georgia is number-two.
The Big Ten still has Ohio State, Michigan, and Michigan State remaining in the top 10.
The Badgers will have a chance to move back up next Saturday when New Mexico State visits Madison.
