The Appleton Police Department is in mourning after the loss of one of their own last week.
Investigator Dominic Hall died on September 4th due to pancreatic cancer at the age of 33.
Hall served in the U.S. Marine Corps and spent time in Afghanistan as a part of Operation Enduring Freedom.
According to a public statement from the Appleton Police Department, it was stated that “Doctors directly attributed Dom’s pancreatic cancer, especially at such an incredibly young age, to various exposures he had incurred during his time serving in the military – chemicals from nuclear reactors and burn pits.”
Hall’s selflessness was on full display as he passed, with him quoted as saying “If through my suffering, I can raise awareness to toxic exposures from overseas and can save another family and give their children another day with their dad, I’m happy to suffer. If not me, then who?”
Hall was a five-year veteran of the Department, which called him a “true American hero.”
