Lakeshore Technical College has announced an event aimed at helping women.
Explore Energy Careers for Females is scheduled to take place at the Cleveland campus on September 21st starting at 9:00 a.m.
The career exploration event will focus on opportunities for females in the wind and solar industries, as well as the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning industry.
Hands-on activities will include building and testing a small model wind turbine, examining solar panel positions and output, inspecting components of a home heating and cooling system, and identifying home energy efficiencies.
Presenters for the event include Justin Barrett, wind energy technology instructor at LTC, and Steve Sorenson, HVAC instructor at the local tech college.
Both bring years of field experience to their instruction roles. Admissions representatives will also be available to answer questions about programs, applying, and how to pay for college.
