Summer is coming to a close, but there are still a few events left on the calendar.
This past weekend, it was the annual Kites Over Lake Michigan.
During his weekly Two Rivers City Update yesterday, City Manager Greg Buckley said the event was a rousing success as thousands gathered to watch as kites filled the sky at Two Rivers High School.
Buckley issued praise to “Chow Chung, the event organizer, and sponsor, and to everyone who makes this annual event possible.”
This weekend there is another event planned, the make-up 4th of July celebration.
Wet weather caused the cancelation of the annual fireworks show, so they will be lighting those off on Saturday (September 10th).
Buckley “We will be having a full patriotic program including singalong with the Clipper City Chordsmen as well as honor guards from our Police Fire, and I believe our local veteran’s groups.”
With Sunday being the 21st anniversary of the September 11th attacks, there will be a remembrance of that as well.
Buckley said that you can find the full event schedule for that and for the upcoming Ethnic Festival by visiting ExporeTwoRivers.com.
